When you think about your coaching practice, do you get the feeling that technology is working against you instead of for you? Are there big dreams you really want to fulfill, but you don't know how to make them a reality? Do you worry that you’re not doing enough with the Internet to move your practice forward? Do you simply want more from your coaching practice — more contacts, higher achievement, better client relationships, a website that works?
When I started my coaching practice, I didn't know how to connect with my clients. I thought if I just created a website, clients would automatically find me and I would be so busy I could quit my day job. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, the reality of being a new coach is very different.
My first website was a huge flop. I had only a few visitors, and they showed no interest in purchasing what they perceived to be expensive coaching services. So, I decided to try collecting e-mail addresses. That way, I figured, I could follow up with potential clients and really show them that I was worth it. Still, no one would give me an address. Next, I tried dropping my prices and giving things away, and as a result, I started getting some addresses. With these, I was able to make more contacts, but I didn't know how to take them from mere contacts to clients. I didn’t know how to effectively communicate with them. I didn’t know how to sell myself as a coach. I knew I could be a great coach, but I just didn't know how to build a relationship of trust with my website visitors and thereby convince them to hire me. Doubt about my ability to have the coaching practice I had dreamed about started to cloud my thoughts. I had to face it. By dabbling in coaching, I had become little more than a "hobby coach."
I had to get serious about my practice. I tried finding a mentor, attended some workshops, and read a few books, but nothing felt right. I still didn't get it. So, I finally did what I should have done first. I prayed. I agonized over my struggles, I turned it all over to God. And as He always does, God rescued me at my lowest point.
The Holy Spirit slowly revealed the steps I needed to take to truly connect with my clients. He did it through the image of a tree. And as each part of the process became fully formed in both my mind and my practice, I started getting clients. My confidence grew. I thank God every day for His grace and wisdom, and I want to share what I've learned with you.
Does the story of my early coaching days sound familiar? Do you believe that you can coach, but you just can't convince others to believe it? I believe I can coach you through these struggles because I've been there. The real question is: Are you ready for coaching? Are you ready to let technology serve you rather than to continue to feel like you are fighting it?
I work with people who are tired of being "hobby coaches" and are ready to move their practices to the next level. I help them to go after the bigger vision they were meant to fulfill in their practices with confidence and authenticity.
Through my four-step Tree of Coaching program, I can help you discover Gods plan for your practice by teaching you how to:
Does any of this sound like a part of the vision you have for your practice? If so, arrange a pre-coaching interview. But, don't be fooled; this isn't easy. If it were, every life coach would be a success. I give homework, and I expect it to get done. I hold you accountable to act on the things that are important to your success. I work with only FIVE clients at a time, so I can really focus on their needs. We will discuss my availability during your interview.
