In the late 1800’s Hans Gamper and ten other enthusiasts were playing an unidentified game called ‘foot-ball’. When Gamper went on to found Barcelona Football Club on 29 November 1899, he could hardly have imagined the momentous events that would follow. Throughout some of Catalonia’s most difficult years, the flag represented the people’s hopes for freedom, and today that very flag is the symbolic link which continues to represent the ties between a very special club and its’ supporters.

Barcelona is in the extremely enviable position of being the only team in Europe to have participated in every European Cup since 1955 the first year the tournament began. It also won the supreme continental prize. Their massive European trophy collection also includes the Cup Winners’ Cup, which the club has won no less than four times – making it undisputed king. In addition, Barca – common name for Barcelona Football club – accumulated three UEFA Cups in the 1958, 1960 and 1966 seasons. The Club retained the trophy in perpetuity after winning a special final in 1971, which paired together the first winner of the competition, FC Barcelona, against the last winner, Leeds United. However, Barca does not just reign in Europe but also in Spain, specifically in the Kings Cup, leading the ranking of winners in this competition with 24 titles.

Evidently, Barcelona reigns in Spain as well as in Europe and no other Spanish team can equal Barcelona’s 24 championship titles in the Copa del Rey. As for the Spanish championship league, Barcelona celebrates the centenary birthday with 16 league titles to its name. Six of these were amassed over the last ten years alone.

The FC Barcelona is currently a sports unit which includes basketball, handball, hockey, athletics, ice-hockey, figure skating, indoor football, rugby, baseball, volleyball and women’s football sections. The football team is the only side to have qualified for European competition every year since its inauguration in 1955. There are now a total of 105,706 members and 1,508 supporters clubs.

Over the course of 100 years, the club has lived through moments of brilliance and misfortune, through good times and bad, through epic victories and crushing defeats. Each one of these moments has contributed to shaping Barcelona into the absolutely unique club that it is today. Barcelona’s renown can be attributed, in part, to impressive statistics but another factor is certainly that Barcelona is one of the most highly decorated teams in the world. With the exception of the International Cup, the showcases of the Barcelona museum contain every trophy possible. Topping off the impressive collection is the European Cup, the crowning glory of a Wembley final that went into the history books.

FC Barcelona’s Museum is the most visited Museum in the city with the famous Picasso Museum a near second. It was set up in 1984. Year after year the museum has increased its number of visitors and become an ever more important tool for spreading the name of the club far and wide. Not only is it the best football museum in the world, it is also the most popular museum of any kind in Catalonia, regularly receiving more than 1,160,000 visitors a year, and is a reference point for many other such museums around the world.

- Is there air pollution?
- Will the altitude make you sick?
- Is it safe to swim in pools, lakes, or the ocean?
- Could you get heat exhaustion, sun stroke, or a sunburn?

Everyday the average adult needs a certain amount of each of the vitamins. That amount is referred to as the DV, the daily value. The DV for Vitamins A and C serves as the basis for information on present-day food labels.

Detailed information about the vitamins in packaged food was not always available to the customer. At one time, the manufacturers of packaged food told consumers that the contents within their advertised products were “nutritious” or “healthy.” Yet those manufacturers did not put on their packages any information that could back-up their claims. Those consumers did not know what vitamins were in the contents of each food package.

In 1994 the United States Congress passed the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act. That act gave food manufacturers an added responsibility. Now food labels must provide in large type information about the fat, calories and ingredients in packaged food. Those labels must also disclose how much of the DV for Vitamins A and C would be provided to a consumer eating one serving of that same product.

Present-day labels contain the words “Vitamin A” and “Vitamin C,” printed in large letters. Next to each of those words is a number and a percent sign (the DV%). This number relates to a daily diet of 2000 calories. In such a diet, a single portion of the packaged food with the label under study would provide the consumer with the given percent of their DV for each of those two vitamins (A and C).

If a consumer was eating less than 2000 calories per day, then that consumer would still need to eat enough of vitamins A and C in order to reach the DV for those two vitamins. Such an individual would benefit from eating packaged food with a large DV% next to the words “Vitamin A” and “Vitamin C” on the food label.

If you’re like most parents, you have scrapbooks full of pictures of your kids and other family members. But have you given thought to collecting memories for your children? A little planning and effort on your part will create a collection of memorabilia that will call to mind many happy times as your children approach adulthood.

With the existence of digital cameras and printers, it’s easy to create multiple copies of photos. As you work on your own family scrapbooks, it makes sense to also put together scrapbook pages for each of your children, with each child as the star of his or her own scrapbook. Family barbeques, vacations, special events like recitals and graduations, and just plain lazy days will all invoke welcome memories for your children. Don’t forget to include family photos and pictures of aunts, uncles, grandparents, and even copies of photos of earlier generations of the family.

Once your children enter school, they will bring reams of papers home – completed drawings, homework, notices – all kinds of interesting material. You may want to create a file folder for each of your children for the current year, and save absolutely everything, especially if they may need to refer back to certain papers as they progress through the school year. Dividing papers into different subjects, like math, English, science, and so on, can actually help them in their studies. Once the year ends, go through the papers you’ve collected, with your child, and help them edit the collection, saving the best of the papers and drawings. Choose a couple to add to the child’s scrapbook, and file the rest away in a folder, marked with the dates of the school year.

Your collection of memories can go beyond just photos and school papers. Most children own lots of toys, clothes, and books throughout their childhoods, and grow out of them as they grow up. Recycling out-grown toys and clothes to other families is a great idea, but why not save one or two items each year for a memory box? A favorite childhood book, a beloved teddy bear, a frequently worn dress or shirt can be tucked away in a sturdy acid-free box, to be saved for your grown child to share with his or her own growing family.

Stashing away valued memories for your children’s future will evoke many happy recollections; more than that, these memories will create a common bond between family members and forge a family history that can be passed on for generations.

Having a baby at home is a wonderful experience. Looking after the baby and caring for it is an even more fulfilling experience. When calculating how much to feed a baby, on average a baby needs two and a half ounces of formula for each pound of his weight. A baby does not distinguish night from day. If it’s your first, your baby is going to make a big difference in your life. Of course babies cannot understand what you are saying because they don’t have a grasp of the English language but they do understand sounds and tones, and if you talk quietly and make happy noises the baby know this.

If both parents are working and you need to balance the care of your child between day care centers there are many things you can do to accomplish this, even if you are single parent many day care centers will work with you to help out. If both parents work a day job maybe you can arrange to have one of the parents working either at night or a staggered shift, say starting at noon and working to 8 or 9. And usually the best time to do this is in the summer when both parents might be off work.

As you look at the child care alternatives of day care center, day care at someone else’s home, or a dedicated child care worker in your home, there are two other factors you should take into consideration: it may be best to consider only state licensed day care providers; and your friend or co-worker’s considered choice might not be the best one for your family.

In a childcare center you will need at least one certified trained person that should oversee everything, this is very important if something should happen during operational hours. How can a parent be sure they have made the right decision? A parent wants the best possible care for their child. Today child care centers are very expensive, sometimes parents wonder if it is cost effective for both parents to work, because it is so expensive many think that the day care centers are money magnets.

The most important parts of providing daycare for your child and that’s your child’s nutritional needs. Certainly the daycare center is not going to let the child starve and the food the child is given to eat will certainly be good food. Trying to find good quality daycare is very hard.

When the child care deductions came about many parents were very happy about this because it put more money in their pockets. Many laws have changed since 2001, this was around when all the tax cuts were happening and in fact increased the tax deductions for the number for children. Children who are under the age 12 the parents are eligible to receive a tax break for them and this is a life saver for many. If you didn’t know about this tax advantage there are many accountants or professional tax planners that can help with this, and show you how you can claim this deduction on your taxes.

There are a lot of MD home improvement projects to suit all possible tastes and preferences. So if you’ve decided to renovate your home and give it a new look, then you should know that there is an abundance of ideas for the perfect design.

When you decide to refurbish your home, consider all the areas in which you can make modifications. You can browse a specialized DC Magazine and search for practical suggestions. For renovated or new homes alike, granite has grown in popularity more and more. There are many MD home improvement projects that consider granite one of the most valuable materials used for kitchen renovation. The natural beauty of a granite counter top is one of its main qualities.

Granite is now presented in almost every DC Magazine as a kitchen counter top material. It comes in a vast array of shades, colors and textures and is able to compliment any d?cor. The durability is another strong point for granite and its use in MD home improvement projects. It is one of the most durable materials available, resistant to staining and discoloring. Using granite can add richness to ones kitchen as there are a lot of patterns and every slab of granite has different features from the next. Consider the d?cor of your home while choosing the pattern and keep in mind that neutral colors are more flexible with d?cor changes in the future.

A lot of MD home improvement projects draw attention the importance of flooring. Wood floors have great value in several ways as they need no replacement over a long period of time and their installment in a house can bring about an enhancement in the value of the house. You can find various suggestions in one of the DC Magazine available out there but every single one will surely mention the incredible durability and ease of maintenance.

Many people are interested in the design of a personally customized floor as it is easy to create by combining a choice of colors, colored chips and even glitter options. There are dozens of colors to choose from. One must bear in mind that darker colors are often found in formal or traditional interiors while lighter shades go well with a casual and contemporary setup.

There a lot of DC Magazine ideas about flooring. One must consider the personal preference for pre-finished or unfinished flooring and also stain color. The latest technology coupled with an almost endless choice of finishes, styles and designs makes hardwood flooring one of the most practical yet versatile floor coverings available for MD home improvement projects. The most used types of hardwood are: brazilian walnut, caribbean cherry and blood wood. Laminate floors are also a good idea especially for those who want the style and look of hardwood but cannot afford it.

Another good idea for a MD home improvement project is an air purifier system. The air purifier that you have chosen should be able to collect not only dust but also those unwanted chemicals and gas inside your home. It is an excellent way for you to invest in your health and wellness. If you purchase a quality product, use it correctly and care for it, you can see a remarkable difference in the quality of the air around you. Also, if you need a purifier that is going to pull out allergens from the air and create a healthy living environment because you suffer from allergies, it is vitally important to look for a high quality filtration system.

An air purifier humidifier not only will help you look and feel younger, it will also make your home look and feel younger. Try to find DC Magazine ideas on how to improve the healthy living aspect of your home and put them in use. Some magazines suggest adding a fragrance to the air purifier system. As the unit circulates, it will also dispel whatever fragrance you have inserted into it.

The outdoor renovation is just as important, at least that is why every DC Magazine is trying to suggest. Deck railing patterns are extremely important when it comes to deciding how you want your deck railings to look. There are a lot of designs to choose from; it all depends on the personal preferences. Some people prefer glass balusters as they are a smart solution to gain better visibility and are elegant looking. The ornamental metal such as iron is another good idea as it offers both beauty and durability.

Toyota sure does have a lot of surprises up its sleeve. But it would not be quite surprising if it does. After all, we do know that the Toyota Motor Corporation can be considered as one of the biggest and strongest companies in the industry right now. And with great power comes great responsibility and perhaps the company believes that it is their responsibility to produce vehicles that would astound and make the public happy. Sure, they do create remarkable stuff from Toyota Sequoia original parts to fine Toyota accessories to exemplary vehicles but now the company would like to show the motoring public a glimpse of what the future holds.

The company would be showing off soon the Toyota Fine-N vehicle which is actually a hydrogen fuel cell concept car. And according to Toyota, this kind of vehicle would soon be filling the roads and streets of our future. This vehicle would be part of the main displays that Toyota South Africa would be sending off at the Auto Africa 2006 exhibit. The event would be held at Johannesburg’s Expo Center and would be starting from the 26th of October up until the 5th of November.

As per the Toyota Fine-N, you would see that this vehicle has for four doors and it comes with a four wheel drive system for a better driving response. The company also boasts of its design and potential performance for all fuel cell vehicles that would be coming in the future. The wheels of the vehicle have got their very own electric motors and these are powered right from the Toyota fuel cell stack and its lithium ion battery. And its power source could be able to produce some 25 kW and 110 Nm of torque. You would find the fuel cell stack, the lithium ion battery, and the rest of the vehicle’s power control unit all beneath the floor. This is primarily because Toyota believes that by doing such, there would be more floor space for the vehicle’s occupants and passengers. Versatile, the Toyota Fine-N would be a vehicle to look out for.

Miami is a vibrant city teaming with Cuban culture, lush everglade wildlife and magnificent beaches bordering the Atlantic Coastline. Miami is the only major U.S. city to be founded and planned by a woman, Julia Tuttle, who hailed from Cleveland. Upon her father’s death in 1891, she took over his citrus plantation along the Miami River.

Miami is a thriving tourist hub, offering Latin flavor and Art Deco surroundings. The city thrives on its cool and hip mystique and its nightclub scene is vibrant and happening. It is the second largest city in Florida behind Jacksonville, and the state’s proximity to Mexico and the Caribbean makes for an eclectic melting pot of Latin spice and excitement. Known as the “Gateway to the Americas,” Miami has many cultural and linguistic ties to North, South and Central America and to the Caribbean, and almost all major foreign countries have consulates in Miami.

Part of Miami’s popularity may lie in its subtropical climate and Gulf Stream warmth. The pleasant year-round temperatures provide the perfect medium for the area’s plethora of activities, attractions and beaches.

Do you wake up during the night soaking wet because you’re sweating so much? Are you so hot that you kick off the blankets and even the sheet? Do you lie there tossing and turning until you finally go back to sleep just as the alarm begins to buzz?

When this scenario started repeating itself in my life, I had just turned forty and was running a cat on a national campaign. My stress level was very high at the time, so I automatically assumed that I was waking up because I had so much on my mind. But one morning when I woke up, I suddenly realized that I had slept all night. Why had I been able to sleep that night but not others? I wondered.

I began to monitor my sleep pattern, and as I did, I noticed that for half the month I would sleep all night, while the other half, I would lie awake tossing and turning. Some nights were much worse than others. Another thing I noticed was that I seemed to become grumpy more easily and that sometimes my tone was harsh.

This pattern continued month after month and coincided with my menstrual cycle. Yet I had always thought menopause was for woman in their fifties-not their forties! I have since learned that many younger women have to deal with the symptoms of early menopause-hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings-as well as with the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease if they happen to be taking hormone replacement therapy (HTR).

Due to the history of breast cancer in my family, I had been told that it wasn’t safe for me to take hormones, so I began to seek natural alternatives in the hope of improving my mood and getting a full night’s sleep on a regular basis. I tried adding soy, flaxseed, and evening primrose oil to my diet. I also tried to boost my intake of vitamin supplements, but I found myself forgetting them. I think I may have managed to take all of them for three days before my busy mind forgot about them. I tried to exercise, too, but because my schedule was already so full, I wasn’t very successful at setting aside an extra thirty minutes three times a week As simple as it sounded, I never really got started.

Since I love to bathe and soak in my Dead Sea salts, I thought, Okay. While I’m soaking in my bath, I’ll do some arm and leg lifts, some tummy tucks. And that’s what I did-once! After that I just rested and enjoyed the soak. After a long day, the soak freshened my spirit and made me feel good all over, but it didn’t do anything for my night sweats. I knew I needed something-but what?

That’s when I began looking into aromatherapy. After extensive research and many soaks in which I tested essential oils by adding them to my salts, I finally had a blend of herbs and oils that didn’t smell like medicine and yet prevented hot flashes and allowed me to get a good night’s sleep. What was this combination? You guessed it! Restoration-Castle Baths’ female line.

Once I had experienced how wonderfully well Restoration worked in the bath, I decided I needed something for mid-day. Many days I’d be working away and suddenly feel a hot flash coming on. I would start to peel off layers of clothing, but the problem was that the heat was coming from the inside, not the outside. So I created a spray and lotion that contained the Restoration aromatherapy blend to help alleviate hot flashes, as well as PMS and mood swings.

Getting relief from the symptoms of menopause
can be as simple as 1-2-3!

1. Two days before your period is supposed to arrive, take an hour-long soak in bathwater infused with Restoration. Continue these soaks throughout your menstrual cycle.

2. Rub some Restoration lotion on your neck and chest before you go to bed. If your breasts hurt, rub some on them, too. If you wake up during the night, apply the lotion again.

3. Place a glass of water next to your bed and if you wake up, drink the water. This might just help you more than anything!

Menopause also sucks the moisture out of your skin, aging it and leaving you feeling dry. So in addition to drinking lots of water, give our Fountain of Youth or Nurture Bar a try.

I’m amazed at how healthy a bath can be. It not only cleanses your body and freshens your mood, but it also heals. By adding a few of nature’s gifts to a bath, I’ve found that my body can handle life pretty well without chemicals and man-made medicines. Below is short list of some of vitamins and herbs that can help you deal with menopause naturally. These are the ones my research convinced me were the best ones to use-but be sure to check with your doctor before you use them! Soy, as a number of recent studies have shown, can help reduce hot flashes, night sweats, and other menopausal symptoms.
– Flaxseed can not only help minimize symptoms like hot flashes, but also help prevent heavy bleeding and help ease breast tenderness, cramping, and other PMS discomforts.
– Evening Primrose Oil is a good bet to help prevent bloating, water retention, breast tenderness, cramps, and vaginal dryness.
– Black Cohosh is a popular herb for mitigating hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms such as cramps, heavy periods, and other menstrual irregularities.
– Vitamin E and Citrus Bioflavonoids are reportedly hot flash busters.
– B-Vitamins help keep your energy level up, are considered stress fighters, and can help you deal with the emotional mood swings that crop up during premature menopause.
– St. Johns Wort may help you if you find that yourself more easily depressed than usual.
– Kava Kava is another herb that appears to be of great help in fighting depression and reducing the symptoms of anxiety.
– Valerian may help you if you’re suffering from insomnia, and since it’s also known as an anxiety reliever, it may help alleviate mood swings and tension as well.
